Assistance or support may include :
- liaising with a builder
- assistance from support groups
- helping the homeowner understand building quotes
- arranging new quotes to align with available funds
- access to professional advice
- providing support, if required, around the decision to sell and relocate.
Each homeowner's situation and needs will be unique. An assessment will be undertaken which involves a detailed discussion between the homeowner and the Department of Communities or a community organisation's representatives to determine what sort of assistance is most suitable.
If you are a homeowner whose principal place of residence was damaged by the disaster events and you think this support would be of assistance to you, please phone: 1800 173 349
The Build Back Blitz program is managed by the Queensland Reconstruction Authority in collaboration with the Department of Communities, other Queensland Government agencies, community organisations, local councils and the private building sector.
